In Ukraine beneficial traditions are very ancient. We did had such Ukrainian patrons as Tereshchenky, Khanenky, who did a lot and, let me say, were the examples for the whole world. But, during the period of the Soviet Union, all paid attention at the state and waited for years and decades for any kind of support, supposing that the state must solve everything, that state institutions must realize all our social programs. Today, we have all-known patrons — among them are George Soros, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates. By the way, Bill Gates is planning to devote himself to philanthropy in the future. It is really amazing, when a man, who had made a fortune, has given up 95 percent of his property to charitable foundation, and now he and his wife have decided to devote themselves to these programs, because they know that they can do a lot. They have already proven this in business, and now they want the same concept, this very, let me say, practice use to overcome diseases on this earth (they use 80 percent of their funds on vaccination and other medicines that are inaccessible in the poorest countries, and 20 percent — on education in the world and their country). This year, even in Davos, people mentioned charity. Now, in Ukraine, all national trade marks take an active part in charity movement. Our trade mark is also not staying aside.

TM “Rud” and Rud P.V.  personally have realized many social projects. They include support to churches, medical and educational institutions, and individuals. Charity of TM “Rud” and Rud P.V.  personally, was marked by many rewards. This way, on April 14, Zhytomir regional charitable foundation “Warm a child with love” has bestowed the “Patron of Zhytomirshchyna” title of honor to Petro Volodymyrovich. This high reward is presented for ponderable charitable contribution and assistance in Zhytomir region, which was aimed at the solution of the deepest problems of many-children families and orphans.

Two great social actions are having held in Zhytomir and Vinnitsya for two months; within their framework kids get to know not only about the ice cream production, but also obtain additional knowledge about food products’ advantage.

For several years running the TM “Rud” employees along with distributor companies had been holding Ice Cream Celebrations that involve children in cultural and tasty spare time spending.

On May 14, 2008 in Zhytomir was held a football tournament among handicapped children of the “Special Olympiad of Ukraine”. This is an all-Ukrainian action that proves the whole community that handicapped children — are full citizens. At this time, activities suchlike are held in 40 countries of Europe and Asia. TM “Rud” has rendered sponsorship support to carry out such activity in our city.

Much work is still ahead, but to act for the benefit of our own consumers — is a bond of loyalty to the trade mark, to its long-term successful work, to its prosperity.
