According to market experts’ statements, ice cream players have not drastically changed.

If we speak about branch leaders, this year, as well as 2008, Zhytomir company “Rud” holded the leading place. We would like to note that “Lakomka” Ltd from Dniepropetrovsk shared the palm. Yet, last year the “Rud” company left them behind, taking the first place by yearly total, and each day is strengthening this result. This year, experts note sales volume decrease of PGO APPO “Laska”. Today, this company has no more than 7 percent of ice cream market (last year – more than 8%). Nevertheless, taking into account the general branch recession, company keeps the third place. Donetsk close corporation “Hercules” keeps the lesser market share (in 2008 the company controlled about 9% of market).

In regional scope, Zhytomir region became the single branch leader, where powerful influence of the “Rud” company is obvious. From January to September, 2009, almost 22,000 tons of sweet cold were produced in the region. In Zhytomir region, ice cream was produced up on 900 tons, comparing to the last year that was more successful for ice cream producers. Yearly growth dynamics was composed of more than 104%.

In general, if we speak about geographical priorities of ice cream production in Ukraine, Zhytomir, Dniepropetrovsk, Kyrovograd, Donetsk and Cherkassy regions hold leadership.
