Energy-saving questions and economical use of energy resources are getting more actual, after all, for last years cost of fuel and energy resources has grown in several times and the growth tendency remains.

Management of the PSC «Zhytomir Butter Factory», led by the chairman of board Rud P. V., in 1997 has taken the decision of full reconstruction of a boiler-house of the enterprise with replacement of old equipment to new, modern one, which would allow to cut down expenses of natural gas considerably . Building of a new boiler-house has begun in 1998, and in 2000 the first stage of a boiler-house with one steam and two water-heating boilers was put into operation.

Within 10 years the time-worn equipment has been completely replaced, the economical steam boilers "Buferus" with gross output of 18 tons of steam per hour and 2 water-heating boilers with output of 1 gkal/hour, and also other modern equipment were placed in operation. Except replacement of heat engineering equipment, collective of a boiler-house and heat engineering service have been realized a number of actions for technological processes automation in production departments, steam condensate reuse, water heating; the heating system and air-conditioning of waffle production department were reconstructed in complex.

In 2009 one more automated boiler-house with boilers «Wiessmann» (Germany) for heating and water heating was put into operation in finished production warehouse on Vinnitska Street, 13.

Within the limits of complex reconstruction in 2007-2008, an old boiler-houses were reconstructed in modern waffle production department with the improved working conditions.

Capital investment in new boiler building (energy-saving measures) has allowed to cut down considerably expenses of energy resources. For example, only in 2009 at the cost of this investment, it was possible to reduce natural gas cost, comparing to previous one to 6.5 %, that in money terms makes more than 500 thousand hrv.

The boiler-house collective has put concerted direct efforts to reach these results. Starting "from scratch", skilled operators Postovoj V. D., Volynets V. S., Vasylenko M. F., mechanic Sobotjuk A. P., machinery operator Jakovitska M. Кm (led by boiler supervisor Stepanovym S. F.) have begun building and introduction in action boiler-houses.

The collective of technical service, and directly boiler collective, is not going to stop at what has been accomplished, after all at the enterprise there are still many objects that are waiting for optimization measures of their work to economical use of thermal energy.

Thus, full replacement of natural gas record center, automation of technological processes of ice cream mixes cooking, the subsequent reconstruction of thermal energy reuse system is planned and so forth.
