This year the greatest zoo of Ukraine has joined the list - the Kiev national zoological park.

The Kiev zoological park is a unique object which has been created under the initiative of professors of Saint Vladimir University and Polytechnical Institute, gymnasium teachers, doctors, public figures and in general nature-lovers who were members of the Kiev society of nature-lovers.

Official time of zoo foundation and the beginning of its activity is March 21, 1909, on this day it has received the territory for placing in a botanical garden of St. Vladimir University and the permission to collect money for animals keeping.

From the first days of the existence the zoo contained on charitable funds from private persons and patrons of art. The collection joined wild animals, given up by owners. It is necessary to notice, that among patrons of art were: well- known businessman O.Tereshchenko, the owner of national park Askania-Nova, F.Falts-Fejn, the architect V.Gorodetsky, artist S.Svjatoslavsky, the countess M.Brodska and tsar Nikolay ІІ.

The zoo has famous and eventful history, at the same time excursion movement has intensified lately, new entertaining programs are created for the youngest visitors, without whom it is impossible to imagine a modern zoo. After all, many Kyiv citizens visit the zoo with children, as a zone of recreation. In a children's recreation zone of the Kiev zoological park, the Zhytomir Butter Factory has initiated to reconstruct a children's corporate playground that is given the site of 400 sq m nearby the famous «Animals' Island».

ТМ «Rud» has the exclusive right on shop equipment placing for ice cream sales and carrying out of corporate holidays at the zoo territory.

It is necessary to notice that PSC «Zhytomir Butter Factory» is given the status of the Official partner of the Kiev national zoological park according to the program of development of the Kiev national zoological park for 2010 which has been confirmed recently by the Kiev city council.
