The President of Ukraine — Viktor Yuschenko has signed The Law of Ukraine № 402-V — On Alterations to the Law of Ukraine on Milk and Dairy Products that was adopted by the Parliament on November 30^th, 2006.

The law was approved in order to bring the National Legislation to conformity with World Trade Organization requirements. Particularly, it is proposed to cancel the export subventions for dairy producers, quotes for production volumes and milk sales to reprocessing enterprises, as well as for volumes of dairy products deliveries to governmental material reserve, minimal purchasing price for milk and dairy raw materials, and utmost limit for trade extra charges under the sales within dairy products retail chain. Moreover, the Law specifies the tools for governmental support of milk and dairy raw materials, particularly, by financing from state budget of Ukraine of grants for milk, whole milk of the extra, first and other classes, as well as for no condensed cream. Also, the Law is foreseen as to come in force from the moment of Ukraine joining into World Trade Organization.
